The club was set up in 1972, by a number of players from the Guildford area and found a home in the village of Cranleigh at the local swimming pool. To date one of the founder members still plays for the club, he being Malcolm Ely. The club started playing its Waterpolo in the Surrey Waterpolo League and in 1990 joined the London Waterpolo League as well. The club now has two teams in each League and their associated knockout competitions and a team in an Over 40’s (veterans) League.
Over it’s lifetime the club has gradually climbed the divisions of each league to reach a point to date where it has teams in the first divisions of the Surrey and London Leagues.
In 1998 the club enjoyed one of its most successful seasons under the watchful eye of the previous coach Andy Disley. In that season the club’s first and second teams won promotion in the Surrey League and won the London Leagues knockout tournament the "Referees Cup".
In 2004, coached by Chris Seipp, was that success equalled with promotion in the London League to Division 1, Surrey (Tom Dywer) Cup winners and semi finalists in the London (Referees) Cup.
Players from the club have achieved in their own right Surrey County honours in the Junior, Over 40’s and Over 50’s categories, as well as representing the Civil Service in competition. In addition the Club has joined forces with Basingstoke and other southern clubs to enter a team in the National League.
The Club still plays at the Cranleigh Leisure Centre and enjoys a strong relationship with the Centre’s management and staff. The Club itself is managed by a committee of members which is made up of the Chairman (Paul Brown), Treasurer & Secretary (Kevin Flanagan), Fixtures Secretary (Mike Clark), Coach (Steve ODonnell & Russell Lines), 1st Team Captain (Russell Lines), Vets Captain (James McCormick), Social Secretary (Tim Anker) and PR Officer (Andy Griffiths).
Presently the club meets on a Tuesday from 9pm to 10pm, but there are efforts to add another training session. The club membership currently totals 25 (both men and women), who come from a far afield as Horsham, Haslemere, Woking and the Isle of Wight!
